Seeing Santa. . .

#4 couldn't wait. She is soooo excited for Christmas! Everywhere we go she shouts "Its Christmas , its Christmas, I love Christmas" She saw the reindeer from afar and couldn't wait, she took off running for it.

She could barely wait in line for her turn. She told him she wanted a pink baby and a pink bus.

She loves him! Quite a far cry (pun intended haha) from our Santa visit 2 years ago where she wasn't so in love with him.

or even last year, when she liked him a little bit, but not really.

#3 was hanging back a little. So I asked him, "don't you want to go sit on Santa's lap? He said "welllllll, I think that mall Santas are FAKE and Dad is really Santa and Mrs. Claus is really you and reindeers can't really fly. Wow - can you tell he has older brothers and sisters or what? Soooo, instead of sitting on Santas lap, he opted to do his "bestest Buddy the Elf" impersonation. Almost got it . . .

Being Thankful . . .

After Bible Study on Tuesdays we don't have time to go home for lunch before afternoon kindergarten so, #3, #4 and I have been frequenting McDonalds. We have amassed quite a collection of these toys from Madagascar 2. They don't usually make it into the house. So one night I dropped ALL :) the kids off at a friends house so we could go to parent teacher conferences and then out to dinner, I was just spending some time talking with the Lord about how thankful I was for everything - health, family, business, and then I started thinking about some of the plans that I had for my life and that I was so very thankful that the Lord had a different and better plan for me and then at that exact moment, in perfect timing, the hippo called out from somewhere in the back of the car "I know thats right" in her Gloria the Hippo voice and I laughed the whole way home. I just love the Lord's sense of humor!

Starting Where I am . . .

So I have thought about starting a blog for a while.  Just could not get past what to blog about the first time.  I tell you if I had a nickel for every time something blog-worthy happened and I said to my honey, "Honey, I would definitely blog about that if I had a blog!"  Just counting up all those nickels in my head right now, I think that I would have at least an extra buck-fifty right now.  I got real excited when I discovered that Blurb would print your blog into a hard bound book.  Thought it was pretty nifty how Wordle will take all the words in your blog and make a picture for you, complete with bigger size words for the ones you use most often.  Still the question remained, where do I start?  With 4 kids there is an endless amount of subject matter.  In order to protect the innocent I will refer to them as #1, #2, #3 and #4 :)

 #4 does lots of cute things, she is only 3 everything she does and says is cute.  See?

#3 cracks me up regularly.  He mostly runs around and eats fruit and meat.  In fact just today he polished off 3 bananas. 

 #2 is always busy creating lego masterpieces.  He is after all a "Lego Artist". 

But #1 did the thing, the most blog-worthy thing ever.  The thing that is causing me to stay up until 1:00 am on a school nite and figure out just exactly how does this blog posting work??  Anyway a few weeks ago I found a "Voters Guide to the Candidates" laying around the house.  I was in full "pick up the house" mode and I almost pitched it right then and there.  But then I saw that #1 had actually read the voters guide and filled out the survey on the back page.  She answered all the questions what did you like best about this guide, what did you like least, etc.  But the last question asked "What one improvement would you suggest for this guide?"

Her answer was "their most embarrasing moment".
  When I read that I was immediately reminded of what it is like to be an 11 year old girl and how still at 40 (yikes!) I would like to know the candidates most embarrassing moment too!  So on this Election Night Eve 2008, that is what I find myself wondering.
